Enhanced Rider Scheme overview ERS gives you a ‘Riders Health Check’

Riders health check

The DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) gives you a ‘Riders Health Check’. The instructor looks at your existing skills and provides guidance to help you improve any weak areas. There is no test at the end of the training but you will achieve a DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme certificate on completion. The Enhanced Rider Scheme is recommended as post test motorcycle training. A full motorcycle licence is required, therefore the scheme is suitable for riders who:

  • Have just passed the basic motorcycle test
  • Need further professional training to improve riding skills
  • Want to take the first step into advanced riding
  • Wish to undertake advanced coaching with a skilled trainer
  • Are returning to riding after a break
  • Are upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle
  • Want a ‘Riders Health Check’ to assess existing skills

You may be eligible for motorcycle insurance discounts once you’ve successfully completed the scheme.
